Taking a note out of mother natures book there are 3 key elements to giving your skin the boost it needs at this time of year.

DETOX & CLEANSE
Food: Support your skin by cleansing on the inside with restorative vital soups, incorporate greens into your diet as much as possible, soups are a great way to bridge the gap before cooler salads, think spinach, wild garlic, shoots.
0
Drink: Green juices and smoothies are so good at this time of year, apple, spinach, kale, they all contain the essential minerals and vitamins that your body has been craving, add some ginger to boost sluggish circulation.

Scrub or brush: A body scrub combined with dry brushing if your a shower fan will cleanse not only your skin but aid the cleansing flow of the lymphatic system that removes toxins from the skin. Our bodies contain more lymph than blood, with brushing you'll feel the positive effects of increased overall skin health. Brush in the direction of your heart, dry or with a scrub both work, the lymphatic system is just under the skin so you don't have to scrub too hard, my 15 years of experience as a massage practitioner taught me that supporting the skin with brushing is deeply restorative, just like a deep soak in Himalayan salts, invigorating and relaxing at the same time.

Masking: Clay face masks are perfect for cleansing the skin, clays are positively charged and they work to detox by attracting dirt and dead skin cells that are negatively charged, simple synergy. To find out which clay mask suits your skin read this blog CLAY 101

INGREDIENT NOTE: Himalayan salts: There's nothing that beats these mountain minerals when it comes to restoring balance. These beautiful crystals contain over 84 minerals and trace elements such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper, and iron. This salt stimulates circulation and is deeply relaxing and soothing for sore muscles.

Face: Everybody's skincare ritual is personal and intimate and everybody's skin is unique so adapt the next stage to suit your skin type but feed your skin. I'm going to share some of the ingredients that have been working wonders for my skin. i start the ritual with a clay mask, shop our clay masks - HERE
Once I've thoroughly masked my face with a clay mask I begin applying layers of pure aloe vera, keep applying this hydrating treatment until your skin's thirst is quenched, I spritz with rose water in between each layer because of its skin-loving components. Next is to lock in all that hydration with a thin layer of oil-based serum and here is where the holy grail to rejuvenated spring skin comes in and it's CIRCULATION.

CIRCULATION: Increasing energy and blood flow in the skin promotes rejuvenation. Diminished blood supply is one of the key causes of skin aging. When there is less energy manufactured within the skin cells it results in insufficient oxygen & nutrients that would naturally circulate with proper blood supply. Be it the skin of your body or face poor circulation contributes to the skins decline and aging. So get that skin moving! Facial massage is great, use a light oil like apricot kernel or sunflower and massage, use little circles and broad upwards strokes, massage for as long as you like, carve out time for this self-care ritual at least once a week and you'll feel ready for anything.
