Cold weather takes is tough on our skin, the delicate skin of our face works hard to protect its natural moisture content but sometimes it needs a bit of help to support the natural function of barrier and hydration. Create a beauty ritual that will promote your skin's natural ability to heal, rejuvenate and restore suppleness.  By adding extra fruit AHA'S to brighten and my favourite skin care tool, massage for that all essential circulation, you will be able to restore the glow & bloom.

Dialling up the sensations in your body is almost like meditation, this is where a skincare ritual comes in, making this process relaxing and enjoyable.

Recipe:
To one bowl of your favourite face mask or raw clay base, like brightening kaolin add a spoonful of one or two of the following:- Aloe vera, coconut yoghurt, fruit juice, happy bee honey or glycerin.
0
Fruit juices: Some fruits contain aha's, these natural fruit acids act as a natural exfoliant removing dry skin revealing luminous fresh complexion underneath, look for papaya, pineapple, grape or apple. Leave this mask on for up to 15 minutes before rinsing.
All the other ingredients are humectant and will draw moisture to your skin maintaining toned, supple and skin with bounce. Leave this mask on for up to an hour before rinsing with warm water.

The ritual:
I like to take my time and apply 3 different masks one after the other, like a home spa evening. I start with our moisturising mask  HIBISCUS BLOOM and add some coconut yogurt or fruit juice depending on what my skin needs most, hydration of exfoliation. Next, a happy bee organic honey mask for an hour followed by aloe mixed with a little antioxidant green tea, when my skin is extra dry this layer soaks in really quickly so sometimes I add up to 3 layers of aloe, luscious!

Finally but importantly, massage!  Use your favourite serum or a light oil like marigold or sunflower oil. Massage aids circulation and essential oxygen flow, you can find face massage tutorials on youtube. Slow down, breath and dial up the beautiful sensations of your skin's bloom.
